The third sign of the zodiac is also the first human sign. As a sign of the air element and variable quality, ruled by the planet Mercury, Gemini is, in the truest sense of the word, a sign of the intellect.
Character traits:
As a sign in which reason and thinking prevail over other functions, people born under the sign of Gemini are, in principle, very curious and inquisitive and always strive to find out something, to be informed about something new. They are characterized by an extremely analytical mind, they stick to logic, observe well and reason quickly. As such, they are very communicative, often excessively so, with excellent use of words, very eloquent, witty, thoughtful and resourceful.
Like the other air signs, they are very friendly and easily create contacts and relationships with others, although, due to their fickleness and unwillingness to get emotionally involved in relationships, their friendships and relationships are often not deep and lasting. Since this sign symbolizes traffic and means of transportation, members of this sign like to be on the move, enjoy walking and driving, but due to their inconstancy, they do not like to stay in one place for a long time, and for this reason, this sign symbolizes short-term trips.
Like all mutable signs, they are very adaptable and flexible, as well as restless, erratic, scattered and fickle. They tend to dissipate, to waste their energy in all directions, so they are often very impatient and impulsive and are prone to nervousness and stress.
As Gemini is a double sign, people with a strong emphasis on this sign have great difficulty staying in one direction for a long time, so they are prone to changing partners, jobs and interests and are often torn between two people, two jobs, while many people born under this sign are characteristically capable of doing two or more things at the same time.
Like all spring signs, they are characterized by a noticeable youthful freshness, charm, sense of humor, cheerfulness and their fondness for play. In many cases, childish nature and a certain amount of infantilism remain with them almost their whole life. Since Gemini and the analogous 3rd house symbolize late childhood, i.e., the period of attending elementary school, impressions and experiences from that period often leave a deep mark on people born under this sign.
Due to their inconsistency, vagueness and inability to stay in one area for a long time, they show a tendency to acquire only a basic, elementary education from everything they do, which is why they often get a reputation for being shallow and superficial.
Since this sign and the analogous house symbolize close relatives, siblings often have great importance and play an important role in the lives of members of this sign, and whether the influence is positive or negative depends on the planets placed in this sign or house, as well as the aspects that they make with other planets.
As a sign of the detriment of Jupiter, the biggest weakness of Gemini is that they rarely direct their intellect to topics and areas of wider, more comprehensive, global importance, but often direct it to solving every day, practical problems and to acquiring personal, short-term benefits. Lack of scruples, conscience and shaky morals can be some of the sign’s biggest flaws.
Since this sign, as a member of the air trinity, i.e., the trinity of time, symbolizes the focus on everyday life, on the present and since it represents the need to collect and forward information, it is natural that people with a strong emphasis on the sign of Gemini are inclined to trade, literature, media and they can be found in large numbers among presenters, translators, interpreters, journalists, commentators, drivers, couriers, postmen and all other related professions.
