Pluto is the last planet of the solar system which, fittingly, was the last to be discovered in 1930. Although it is the most distant planet and is quite small in size (it is even smaller than the Moon), its influence is, nevertheless, quite powerful and mostly destructive.
Pluto symbolize underworld on both physical and psychological level. It represents deep, primal forces and urges, deeply hidden in the unconscious, that are often very difficult to handle and control. Once these forces break forth and express themselves through us, one thing is certain- we are never the same again.
This planet symbolizes all those challenging, dangerous, critical, cathartic situations and experiences, which most often have two potential outcomes- death or transformation. For this reason, Pluto symbolizes tragedies, dangers, crisis, near death experiences and death itself, but also symbolize regeneration, metamorphosis, resurrection. So, death and rebirth are what this planet is all about. It symbolizes all those habits, tendencies and needs that we must figuratively kill in order to stay alive, to continue living.
Its malefic nature can be deduced from the fact that it is considered the higher octave of Mars, a planet that is itself a malefic. So, just as Mars represent desires and passions, Pluto represent pronounced, obsessive desires and passions. As Mars signify diligence and dedication, Pluto exemplify fanaticism. If Mars symbolize the need for sex, Pluto represents nymphomania. As Mars represents aggression, Pluto epitomize extreme aggression, so if Mars indicate murderous tendencies, Pluto wants to annihilate and exterminate.
In essence, planet with a markedly dangerous and extreme influence which, depending of its integration, can give great power but also equally great destructiveness.
Well placed and in constructive aspects, this planet can give pronounced magnetism, seductiveness, charisma, great power and popularity, depth of feeling, penetrating mind, indomitable will, ability to survive all trials and tribulations, great regenerative powers.
Negatively placed and in challenging aspects it usually gives obsessions, manias, destructive, subversive behavior, tendency towards aggression, brutality, cruelty, bizarre, unhealthy sexual proclivities, involvement in criminal activities, corruption, murderous tendencies. It is particularly destructive in unfavorable aspects with other malefics, especially with Mars.
