FERRARI AND LAMBORGHINI

If you are a fan of fast sports luxury cars, it is unlikely that you have not heard of well-known manufacturers of such automobiles as Ferrari and Lamborghini. Even if you have no interest in cars, if someone asks you who are the most famous manufacturers of this type of vehicle, it is likely that these two companies would first come to your mind.

As is usually the case, the names of these companies are actually the surnames of the people who founded them. In this case founders of those companies are two Italians, Enzo Ferrari and Ferrucio Lamborghini.

Needless to say, the charts of these two men must be very striking because they both dealt with and are remembered for something very specific, since car manufacture is not a widespread profession, especially the production of a specific type of car, those that are exclusively used for racing and are, expectedly, very fast and expensive and which, therefore, are produced in very small numbers.

Also, it is to be expected that their charts will be very similar, that is, they must contain the positions of the planets that accurately describe this profession. Of course, their charts are like that, but there are some differences as their careers have developed in different ways. In fact, as it turns out, a comparison of these two charts can serve as a great example of how to understand the planetary aspects, that is, how the good aspects on the one hand and the challenging ones on the other can ultimately produce the same result, but that result is reached in different ways and through different circumstances, according to the nature of the aspects themselves.

At this point, it should be pointed out which astrological indicators symbolize the tendency towards the production of fast, luxury sports cars. All means of transport and therefore all types of vehicles, is represented by the planet Mercury, while sports or competition, as well as manufacture, is represented by the planet Mars. So, the combination of these two planets already represents a car manufacturer. Further, planet Uranus symbolizes speed, while the planet Jupiter symbolizes everything that is expensive, luxurious and a status symbol. So, the combination of these four planets specifically represents luxurious fast sports cars.

Of course, since there are other indicators besides planets and their angular positions such as signs, houses and degrees, although it is desirable, it is not necessary for these four planets to be connected through aspects. Two of the four planets mentioned can form an aspect through the signs ruled by the other two planets, for example, Mercury in Aries in the trine with Uranus in Sagittarius, and, if all factors are taken into account, only one planet, for example Mercury positioned in the sign of Aries at the degree of Aquarius in the 9th house symbolizes essentially the same as the mutual aspects of the four already mentioned planets. Astrology is too complex and intricate a discipline so one should never expect two or more charts to contain pre-expected simple and ideal positions.

Nevertheless, the charts of these two men are, as will be seen, ideal examples.

Enzo Ferrari (18.02.1898 Modena 03:00 AM), also known by the nicknames “il Commendatore” and “il Drake” is certainly one of the legendary figures in the world of car manufacturers, which is not at all unexpected given the position of the planets on the day of his birth. In fact, his chart is one of those that you don’t have to analyze long and carefully to understand that it is a chart of a man who would have to achieve a lot during his life.

The first thing that catches the eye is the emphasized air element, whose signs are by definition the fastest in the zodiac. Then, the striking position of Mercury, which, in addition to being in the sign of its exaltation, in Aquarius, forms harmonious aspects with as many as 6 planets. In addition to the trine with Neptune and Pluto in Gemini and the sextile with Saturn in Sagittarius, the most striking are certainly aspects with the remaining 3 planets, the conjunction with Mars in Aquarius, the sextile with Uranus in Sagittarius and the trine with Jupiter in Libra, which is no less no more, positioned on the MC itself. Jupiter is the ruler of the ASC, which is located exactly at 15 ° Sagittarius, therefore, at the degree of Gemini.

The conjunction of Mercury and Mars in Aquarius in itself describes someone who might have a penchant for fast (Aquarius) driving (Mercury), as well as a penchant for competition (Mars) in it. Therefore, it is not necessary for these two planets to form an aspect with Uranus, however, both planets are not only in sextile with Uranus, which, incidentally, is placed at 3 ° of Sagittarius, but are in sextile with another Aquarius ruler, Saturn, who is located at 11 ° of Sagittarius. Since Uranus and Saturn are in the sign ruled by Jupiter, it is not necessary for these 4 planets to form any aspect with Jupiter, but, as can be seen, Mercury and Mars are in a trine, and Saturn and Uranus in sextile with Jupiter in Libra which is located on the MC itself. What a chart!

NATAL CHART Enzo Ferrari

Although Ferrari’s chart contains certain challenging aspects, such as the square of the Sun and Venus with Uranus, as well as the opposition of Neptune and Pluto with Saturn, the fact is that all other aspects of his horoscope are positive, all conjunctions, sextiles and trines. What is characteristic of people who have many harmonious aspects in their charts is that they rarely wander, but very early they understand and realize what they want to do in life. Based on that, it is quite natural that Enzo Ferrari decided at the age of 10 that he wanted to be a race car driver, that during his driving career he decided to be a designer and constructor of fast cars, as well as a manager and organizer of a team of drivers and constructors. Of course, life is not easy for anyone, there have been many ups and downs, challenges and defeats in his career. But with such a dynamic and potent chart, it is understandable why the company that bears his name has become one of the most successful in its business in the world.

Due to the conjunction of Mercury and Mars in Aquarius, Enzo Ferrari always wanted to produce exclusively race cars, so he was reluctant to produce passenger cars which he saw only as a source of income and therefore was very critical of people who bought his cars only because of the brand and appearance. But due to the position of Jupiter on the MC in Libra (design, aesthetics), as well as the position of Venus, the dispositor of Jupiter, in the sign of Pisces near the top of the 3rd house (cars, driving), it is indisputable that his company’s cars are bought by mostly rich people (Jupiter) because of their obvious aesthetic (Libra, Venus) value and as a status symbol (Jupiter).

Since most planets in his chart are placed in the sign of Aquarius, which is the sign of the highest speed, and due to the fact that Mercury and Mars in Aquarius form sextile with both rulers of this sign, Saturn and Uranus in Sagittarius, as well as the trine with Jupiter, it is not surprising that in the fastest circus in the world, Formula 1, the Ferrari team is in first place in terms of the total number of victories and the number of titles.

Not even the company’s emblem, the black jumping horse, which Enzo Ferrari personally chose is not accidental. The emblem was created and worn by the pilot of the Italian fighter plane Francesco Baracca. During World War I, Baracca gave Ferrari a necklace with a horse jumping before takeoff. Baracca was shot down and killed by an Austrian plane in 1918. To commemorate his death, Ferrari used a jumping horse to create an emblem that would become Ferrari’s shield.

If we keep in mind the combination of the sun sign and ASC, as well as the planets placed in these signs in the Ferrari chart, the choice of just such an emblem is understandable. The sign of Aquarius and the planet Uranus, among other things, symbolize airplanes and pilots, while Mars in Aquarius in the aspect with Uranus represents specifically a combat pilot. On the other hand, Sagittarius as a sign symbolize horses, while Saturn represents everything that is dark or black. Saturn is at 11 °, which is the degree of Aquarius and is in conjunction with Uranus, while both planets are in sextile with two planets in Aquarius. This sign and Uranus, in addition to representing planes and pilots, also symbolizes jumping. Due to these symbolic meanings, Ferrari chose a black jumping horse as the emblem of his company.

Feruccio Lamborghini (28.4.1916, 17:00 Ferrara) has, like Enzo Ferrari, a very striking and dynamic horoscope filled with many aspects. All the planets in his chart are placed in the eastern half of the Zodiac between the signs of Aquarius and Leo.

He was born in a family of farmers, more precisely, grape farmers, which can be clearly seen from the position of the Sun in the sign of Taurus (village, agriculture) in sextile with Saturn, the ruler of 4 houses (family, origin) in the sign of Cancer, which is a position that, along with the position of Moon in the sign of Pisces, describes viticulture.

As a young man, he was more interested in agricultural machinery than the farming lifestyle, so he decided to become an engineer and mechanic, which in his chart shows the position of Uranus, strongly placed in the sign of Aquarius in opposition to Mars in Leo. The aspect of these two planets often gives an affinity to mechanics, electronics and engineering and the contact of these two planets runs through most car manufacturers charts, especially if these two planets form an aspect to Mercury. Of course, Lamborghini is no exception, and as can be seen from his chart, Uranus and Mars form the aspect of square towards Mercury in Taurus.

At this point, it is desirable to compare his chart with the chart of Enzo Ferrari. Unlike Ferrari, which has the Sun and Mercury in the sign of Aquarius, which is the fastest sign of the zodiac, Feruccio Lamborghini has the Sun and Mercury in the slowest sign, Taurus. Just as Mercury in the Ferraris chart forms harmonious aspects with Mars, Uranus and Jupiter, Mercury in the chart of Ferrucio Lamborghini forms aspects with the same planets, with the difference that aspects are either challenging, squares with Uranus and Mars or minor aspect, semi-sextile with Jupiter.

The way in which such aspects were manifested is characteristic, which will be seen from the following information from his biography.

After the end of the World War II, a market dedicated to the revitalization of agriculture and industry emerged in Italy. Realizing that, Lamborghini, using parts from the engines of military vehicles, constructed the first of his „Carioca” tractors. Shortly afterwards, he founded his first company, Lamborghini Trattori”, and began producing tractors.

Mercury, which always represents vehicles, is placed in his chart in the sign of Taurus, which symbolizes fertile land and thus fields and arable land. So, this position specifically describes a vehicle used to cultivate the land, such as a tractor, while a square with Mars symbolizes the manufacture (Mars) of tractors (Mercury in Taurus). But, since Mercury is squared with Mars and Uranus, a vehicle such as a tractor, which by definition is a large and slow (Taurus) vehicle (Mercury), can hardly (square) be used for competition (Mars) in fast (Uranus) driving (Mercury).

NATAL CHART Feruccio Lamborghini

“Lamborghini Trattori” became one of the leading companies of its kind in Italy and thus brought its founder considerable wealth (Taurus), which enabled him to buy expensive cars. In 1958, he went to Maranello and bought the first of several Ferraris that he would own in the following years. Although he had a generally good opinion of them, he felt that they were too noisy and rough for road vehicles and that they had inferior clutches that often broke down. At one point, he visited Enzo Ferrari and complained about the shortcomings of his cars, to which the notoriously proud Enzo, according to Lamborghini himself, responded by telling him to stick to driving tractors. Shortly afterwards, Feruccio founded his third company at the time, „Automobili Lamborghini”, with the intention of producing high-end sports cars.

At the beginning of this essay, I pointed out that comparing the charts of these two people provides an excellent insight into how to understand the nature of the planetary aspects, especially the aspect of a square, which, although challenging, is a very dynamic aspect that motivates action through dissatisfaction, quarrels and provocations.

Enzo Ferrari, due to the harmonious aspects that Mercury creates with other planets, and above all with Mars and Uranus, decided very early on what he wants to do and he stayed on that path for the rest of his life. Under the influence of Mercury’s square in Taurus with Mars and Uranus, Ferrucio Lamborghini first had to start producing tractors, a business that brought him big profits which allowed him to buy most expensive cars produced up until that time only to be dissatisfied with them and then, after provocation and insults sent to him by Ferrari, he started producing sports cars, for which he is best known today.

The reason why Lamborghini has become one of the most successful sports car manufacturers is shown by the position of Venus in his chart. Venus, as the dispositor of Mercury, shows the outcome of his confrontation with Enzo Ferrari and the provocation he sent him. Also, Venus shows what must happen after he founded a company that produces tractors (Taurus) and in what he must invest the money (Taurus) that the business brought him.

Venus is located at 23 ° Gemini, which is, it should be reminded, a mutable sign, and also an air and therefore a fast sign. Venus, placed in the sign ruled by Mercury, creates harmonious aspects with the three most relevant planets, sextiles with Mars and Jupiter and the trine with Uranus. So, when Ferrucio Lamborghini shifted his focus from tractors (Mercury in Taurus) to passenger vehicles (Gemini) and more specifically to luxurious (Jupiter) fast (Uranus) sports (Mars) cars (Gemini), he activated the most harmonious aspects of his horoscope and founded the company for which he is best known today. And since Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception, there was no need to leave the previous business, so he simultaneously ran two of the four companies he founded during his life.

In the end, the emblem that Lamborghini chose for its cars and why is simple. Namely, Feruccio was a passionate fan of bullfighting and, when he visited the ranch of the famous bull breeder Don Eduardo Miura from Seville in 1962, he was so impressed with his animals that he decided to adopt the raging bull as an emblem for the car company he will soon establish.

It is really hard to imagine anything more logical than someone who was born in the sign of Taurus to be, in the first place, a fan of bullfighting, and then choose this animal as an emblem for their cars and name one of their most famous models after a famous bull breeder.
